Scott Rountree - Funking superstar a mastermind on the guitar and creative whiz Scott is a force to be reckoned with.
Scott began his musical journey playing piano at age 8 and picked up the guitar at age 15. He studied under a well-known guitar instructor in Halifax for three years before joining several basement bands.
He helped form the local original act ‘Love Dogs’ as lead guitarist and background singer and went on to record an album and play many shows with them in the maritime provinces during the 1990’s.
In the 2000s, he was instrumental in the forming of the original act ‘Nadira’ with writing and production credits on two albums and many more performances in the Atlantic Provinces. He also was a member of Dutch Robinson’s band during the early 2000’s playing guitar and production on several of Dutch’s original recordings.
In 2012 he helped form ‘Funk Family’ contributing writing and guitar duties and continues to perform and jam with various artists in the Atlantic Region.

Our Brother of the Bottom End, Drew, formally joined the local music scene around 2012 after one of a few weekend garage jam bands turned into a professional gigging band- the SunDogz.
After stints in a few other bands, including one where he met the amazing Scott Rountree, he was invited to join the Funk Family crew late in 2015 as our full time bass player. Drew is inspired by a wide range of genres and artists and keeps the funk grooving. He will also pick up the guitar occasionally for our unplugged shows and in the studio, where he also dabbles in keyboards.
His energetic stage presence earned him the moniker, “Snoop Drew” early on, and he always keeps us smiling and the stage rocking.
Ashriel Bathsheua (Backup Vocalist) Baby Funker
Don’t be fooled by their “R.B.F.”— Ashriel packs a quirky, fun voice that is sure to impress. This seasoned performer grew up singing gospel in church, and has graced the stage in countless theatre performances. With a passion for music and the theatre, Ashriel brings a special sparkle to every song. (Fun fact: Ashriel is double-jointed.)

Tarka's love of music started at a young age. From learning the piano and flute to being part of various choirs and musical groups over the yeas. Now as a part of the Funk Family she provides back up vocals with the odd flute solo throw in. She loves being on stage with her fellow Funkers just vibing with the music and throwing in a little bit of sass.

this sums up the majority of the essence of this powerhouse voalist. Whether outfront with energy and electric infusion or behind the scenes creating and composing one thing that rings clear is a passion for music. Charity has been involved in music from the beginng, singing in church with family as a small child and starting piano lessons at age of five. She has had the privelege to work with many different talents throughout the years, as well as the honor being lead composer for Viola Desmond the musical. Her passion is to create music you feel in your soul that gives wings to your inner being and gives you freedom to be yourself. There is nothing more beautiful when you can own your voice see your own beauty and be free to be your yourself, a priceless original. Music has given Charity the power to see and own all that and she desires through her sultery soulful creativty to share that empowerment to all who hear.
